About the series

Our series of short films, Game Changers -Impacting LGBTQ Culture, broadens the Game Changers history project, as we expand our mission to include additional BIPOC and younger women who have made significant contributions to LGBTQ+ culture. We are creating the film series as a part of our Queer history lesson plan, currently being piloted in Marin county schools.

Game Changers author Robin Lowey is partnering with filmmaker Eliza Karlson of Karlson Studio to create the short-film series that, like the book, highlights the stories of lesbian heroes who fought for equality and social justice and pioneered queer cultural spaces.

Beginning 2024! We are filming a new short-film on Crystal Jang, Crystal has spent six decades as an activist, educator, community organizer, and proud “auntie” in the queer, trans, Asian, and Pacific Islander (QTAPI) community.
